Captiveworks Forum AdministratorWe've been working on another add-on package for the CW-LMC called XBMC.
XBMC is an open-source media player and entertainment hub for digital media with expansion plugin support.
The XBMC install package requires the system to, at least, have the 1.0.1.17 update installed prior to its install(i.e. if your system software version is less than 1.0.1.17 you should update to that first)For those new to the CW Linux update process. All you need is the remote and a network connection. For the network impaired USB stick instructions will follow.
1. Enter the Admin profile from the main screen.
2. Enter the pin (1111 is the default)
3. Highlight updates and press enter.
4. Highlight download and press enter.
5. Make sure the server is the Official CW3000HD Updates.
6. Highlight Check and press enter.
7. You will see 2 entries in the lower boxes. Highlight cw3000hd and press enter.
8. Highlight the cw-lmc-xbmc-1.0.bin file and press the blue button to download.
9. Press the blue button when the download completes.
10. Press the back button to exit the download screen.
11. Highlight Install and press enter.
12. Highlight local on the file screen and press enter.
13. Highlight the cw-lmc-xbmc-1.0.bin file and press the blue button to install.
14. You will see the status animation and some messages displayed as the update is installed.
15. Once the "Update Installed Successfully" message is displayed, press the yellow button to restart the system.
16. Update complete.
For those without a network connection this update will remove the long wait at startup also. to update your system you will need a USB stick.
1. You can download the update with your computer by going to CaptiveWorks FTP Site and saving the file cw-lmc-xbmc-1.0.bin to your computer.
2. Copy the cw-lmc-xbmc-1.0.bin file to a USB stick.
3. Take the USB stick to the CW-LMC and insert it into one of the front USB ports. (There is a flip up door on the front of the unit covering the ports. Press on the triangle of dots to open the door.)
4. Enter the Admin profile from the main screen.
5. Enter the pin (1111 is the default)
6. Highlight updates and press enter.
7. Highlight Install and press enter.
8. Highlight external on the file screen and press enter.
9. Highlight the cw-lmc-xbmc-1.0.bin file and press the blue button to install.
10. You will see status animation and some messages displayed as the update is installed.
11. Once the "Update Installed Successfully" message is displayed, press the yellow button to restart the system.
12. Update complete.

Captiveworks Forum AdministratorUsers are encouraged to set up library mode.
Assuming you have a directory full of movies, TV shows or music videos:
1. Select that directory in the video browser.
2. Press the menu button to bring up the context menu.
3. Select Set Content and choose the appropriate type.
4. Select an appropriate scraper.
5. Select OK
6. Still on the directory in question, press the menu button.
7. Select "Scan for new content."You will see a progress window at the top right of the screen as the directory is scanned and information is gathered.
Once you have scanned the directory you can switch to library mode and you will have additional sort groups and selecting "XXXXX information" from the context menu will show you what information was gathered.
